De-Iraqifying

I've been on the road a lot lately. Orlando on Monday. Blue Springs State Park tomorrow. Washington DC Sunday through Wednesday for a meeting.

Over the weekend, however, my old desk lamp gave up the ghost and had to be replaced. For the last three years, it had been holding the deployment bands I wore while Mark was overseas. When I took them off the lamp, I wondered why I had been keeping them out.

Our Iraq adventure is over.

So, with a satisfying thud, I put them away in my junk drawer and closed it.

It's over for us. Finally.

Yay! I'd love to get an expanded version of this post - for ParentsZone. As for your comment on mine - that's what I keep saying, the BRASS is trying - sorta, and talking a good game - but the NCOs - most of them are wonderful, but some of them - assholes.

We are getting there. Whether it's June or September, we are getting there. With his injuries, I don't see a deployment in his future. But it is the Army (knock on wood) :)

I wish I had known about the bracelets last year?
You kept it a secret.
Now I hope I never need to know where they can be found...
But, IT IS THE ARMY"!

Dad,

True, true about the Army. You never know. I found out about the bracelets through gmail. I was talking about Mark's deployment is in an email and up popped an ad for deployment bracelets in Fayetteville.
