Baghdaddy Beat

Mark gave us this video last summer when he was on leave. I watched it over and over again while he was gone and was really hoping that some day I could post it. Thanks to YouTube, I can. Thanks to first platoon, Bravo Company. This beats the Pepsi commercial any day. SPC Mark is in there a couple of times. It was a Godsend to us through the darkest of days. SGT Schilling, who made the video, is a very talented young man.

If this doesn't make CNN, I will be surprised! :)

I love it! Seeing a guy get his groove on in full combat gear and M16 is a sight to behold!

May I please repost this video?

It didn't load on my computer here at work. Damn government pre World War II equipment!

I will check it out at home but I know a Falcon's dad wouldn't post anything but damn good stuff.

Comments from friends:

I teared up with mixed emotions when I watched this.....joy, delight, hearbreak, anxiety, zest for life....thank you so much for sharing it.

This is awesome – I’m sure the video had to bring a smile to your face each and every time you watched it. This is a prime example of making the best out of a bad situation. I hope you don’t mind but I shared it with some of my friends also.

Gosh you and your buddies seem to be having a great time over there! I didn't know a hundred billion dollar military occupation of another country could be so much fun! But for that kind of money they should be having one heck of a good time gosh durn it! You make creating a police state in a lawless country look cool! I can see now how McCain would want them to stay another 50 or even ...as he said...a HUNDRED years!
Thanks Mark for showing us the funny side of Bush's endless war on terrorism or is it to remove Saddam, no wait I think we are in Iraq to establish "democracy" or is it to get the bad guys that that did 9/11... oh fiddle who cares why we are really there... just keep up the good work...pray to Jesus for more and more military victories, always vote Republican and party on dude!

Sleep tight....real tight! I'm sure you will....

Hey threeboyz...most people (58% of Americans alone!) would appreciate that these guys were home here in America, not having to wage war in full body amour, in 120+ degree conditions. Of course they need to relieve the stress. I don't have any family members over there because all the youth in my family are far too smart and way too patriotic NOT to fight wars for Bush !!! Sarcastic comments, are the least I can provide for a post that tries and make the Bush Iraqi War have a human face!

I do surely hope that your comments were intended with the RESPECT that our troops DESERVE.

I'll skip over the Bush comments and how Congress voted on the war......

But truly, "I don't have any family members over there because all the youth in my family are far too smart and way too patriotic NOT to fight wars for Bush !!! "

that just doesn't sound very RESPECTFUL to me. Please remember (or note if you don't know) the man who owns this blog has a son who has repeatedly put his life on the line in this war, and will again.

Perhaps your sarcastic commentary would be more appreciated amongst others who, like yourself, don't have any family members in the military.

Thanks mightymom. Marci has a few issues. Perhaps she should talk with Jane Fonda. I'm sure she could explain how those same issues worked out for her.

A bachelors degree in Criminology, top third of his class, volunteer infantryman who does not agree with the war in Iraq, but is there because he signed a contract to serve his country.
I'll pit him in a game of wits against any relative of Marci's, any time.
Comming from an independant, conservative, with liberal tendancies who is planning on voting Democratic in the up-comming election, Marci, you represent all that gives libralism a bad name..
